Suzanne Matwyshen-Gillen, Director

Suzanne Matwyshen-Gillen is Manager of Government Relations for the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM).  AFPM is a trade association representing high-tech American manufacturers of virtually the entire U.S. supply of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, other fuels and home heating oil, as well as the petrochemicals used as building blocks for thousands of vital products in daily life. 

Prior to joining AFPM, Suzanne served ten years in the U.S. Senate as a legislative advisor to several U.S. Senators on energy and environmental policy.  Most recently, she served as a Subcommittee Staff Director for a Senate Subcommittee on the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee.

Suzanne holds a Masters in Environmental Science & Policy from Johns Hopkins University. She also holds a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Studies with a minor in Chemistry from The George Washington University.  Suzanne became Director of YPE DC in July 2010.
