Another good read is Done in Oil tells the story of J. Howard Marshall, a lawyer, civil servant and oil man who spent his career at the center of the American energy industry. Marshall provides a detailed history of the oil industry and offers a first hand account of his experiences in the business that transformed our country.

The First Billion is the Hardest by T. Boone Pickens; granted not the most well written book, infact T. Boone's confidence cracks me up through the whole thing; worth a read....
I highly suggest reading this report.
