Director - Oklahoma CityRavi Ramdas started his career in Singapore, his home town, with Shell in 1993. Ramdas had several roles in the Finance and Trading departments with is last role managing a scheduling group and liaising with his counterpart in London. Following his stint at Shell, Ramdas worked as a trading analyst at the Singapore office of Koch, devising trading strategies in the Asian petrochemical markets in conjunction with his London counterpart. In 1999 Ramdas moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he started the oil trading desk of NRG Energy. After 13 months he was promoted to head all fuels trading (natural gas, coal, emissions credits and oil) at the company. Following his tenure at NRG and after a brief stint in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ramdas assumed the East Coast gasoline and diesel trading manager position with Premcor Refining in Old Greenwich, Connecticut in 2004. There he successfully oversaw the trading transition of the purchase of the Delaware City refinery. After grooming a replacement for the position, Ramdas assumed the role of feedstocks trader for the whole Premcor system of refineries. Following the sale of Premcor to Valero, Ramdas was hired by Oklahoma City-based start-up Musket Corporation in 2006. Ramdas was hired to trade diesel and other clean products in the Gulf Coast, mid-continent and southwestern United States. During his almost three years at Musket, Ramdas fulfilled several roles, including trading distillate products and gasoline on national pipelines and via rail, blending distillates in the Gulf Coast and developing a rail-based business to rail diluent to Canadian tar sands companies. In 2008 Ramdas formed Peninsula Energy, LLC in Oklahoma City. The company provides various hedging, trading, supply and logistics services to oil consumers and producers. In addition, Peninsula is evaluating a variety of projects including storage “cash-and-carry” plays and ultimately plans to be involved in the exploration and production business. Ramdas was educated through high school at international schools in Singapore and obtained his degree in Economics and Agricultural Economics from the University of Nottingham in England. Prior to entering university, Ramdas was a combat diver in the Singapore Navy’s elite Underwater Demolition Team.
