Corporate and Tax Status

  • June 25, 2007 - Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(6) status granted by the United States Department of Treasury. This characterizes YPE as an organization that promotes a common business interest. YPE is exempt from most federal income taxes, but contributions to YPE are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. YPE may engage in limited political activities that inform, educate, and promote a given interest.
  • March 21, 2006 - Non-profit corporation created in the State of Texas

Board

  • YPE is governed by a Corporate Board with fiduciary responsibility to the organization

  • YPE also has two advisory non-governance boards

  • YPE Advisory Council a group consisting of senior executives who serve as a sounding board for global strategic issues that YPE faces as it executes its mission and vision statements

  • YPE Junior Board a group of young professionals who advise YPE officers on strategic issues and support YPE's growth initiatives at the chapter level
