Coming Soon - YPE Philadelphia 

YPE is pleased to announce the launch of the YPE - Philadelphia chapter.  You are encouraged to pass this note and information along to colleagues in the Philadelphia area so they may sign up for YPE membership and register for the upcoming kick-off event. 

Philadelphia is uniquely positioned in the global energy industry.  It is home to one of the oldest energy companies, Sunoco Inc., which was grown from two oil leases in 1886 to one of the premier refining, marketing, shipping, and pipeline companies in America.  Exelon Generation, a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation, is headquartered outside of Philadelphia.  It owns and controls one of the largest generation portfolios in the country, roughly 33 gigawatts of generation.  In addition to industry players, several local universities have an increasingly important role in the evolving energy space.  Philadelphia University’s Masters of Science in Sustainable Design Program focuses on the concept of “green” building utilizing various student backgrounds, such as architecture and engineering.  The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania has educated many global energy industry leaders along with frequently sponsoring educational events related to the energy sector.  Most recently, the Wharton Energy Club has invited all members of YPE to register and attend the upcoming 2008 Wharton Energy Conference which will take place on November 21^st, 2008.  http://www.whartonenergyclub.com/wec2008/

The YPE – Philadelphia chapter looks forward to a successful launch event this Thursday, November 20^th and would like to remind all members of additional YPE events.  YPE - Houston will be hosting a networking reception in conjunction with the Oil and Gas Financial Journal on November 19th as well as the second annual YPE - Wells Fargo Golf Tournament on November 22nd (to benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Houston).
