YPE LA Sets Speakers At EV Panel |
|
The Los Angeles Chapter of Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) will hold a panel discussion titled "The EV in LA: The Near Future of the Electric Vehicle in Los Angeles" on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at UCLA Anderson School of Management, 110 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90095. Appearing on the panel will be Adrene Briones, Environmental Specialist, Los Angeles Dept. of Water & Power (LADWP); Dan Mosher, Chief Financial Officer, CODA Automotive; and Shad Balch, Environment & Energy Policy and Communications Specialist, General Motors. In addition to YPE members, C-level executives from across the city and industry are invited for an evening of and networking. Our last meeting saw professionals from Southern California Edison, Sempra Energy and more attend. Who is a young professional? There's no age limit or prejudice. All are welcome to enjoy this unique networking opportunity. BACKGROUND: Young Professionals in Energy (“YPE”) is the first and only interdisciplinary networking and volunteer organization for people in the global energy industry – a place where bankers can connect with engineers, accountants with geologists and so on. Our mission is to provide a forum for knowledge sharing and camaraderie among future leaders of the energy industry. The first YPE Chapters were launched in Houston and New York in 2005 by Stephen Cravens and Michael Teplitsky as a way to bring professionals in the industry together to network and exchange ideas in a comfortable setting. The growth of YPE from 2 to over 8,000 members since the launch of the initial chapters underlines the need that was already present in energy cities across the globe. SPECIFICS: Advance registration admission to the March 4, 2010 meet-up is $15 for YPE members, $20 for guests. You can sign up for a free YPE membership at ypenergy.org. Pre-register for the March 4 event before the close of business on March 3, 2010 at jmnorthernmedia.com. Click on "events registration" to get to our form. There is a discount for registration of five or more attendees. Prices at door will be slightly higher. |
