Cortney Hazen is a manger for governmental and political affairs for the Independent Petroleum Association of America. IPAA represents the thousands of independent oil and natural gas producers and service companies across the United States. In her role at IPAA, she works on Federal Resource issues and manages the Wildcatters PAC Fund. Prior to joining IPAA, Cortney served as a legislative aide for Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX). In that capacity, she covered energy, environment, and agriculture issues for the Senator in her Washington, D.C. office.

Cortney is active in the Women’s Council on Energy & Environment, the Young Leadership Network, the Washington Center Alumni Board, and the Women in Government Relations E&E Taskforce. She holds a B.B.A in Marketing with double minors in Business Law and Political Science from the University of Toledo. Cortney is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and joined the YPE Leadership Team in 2007.
